Andrew Luck showed up to high school scout team to prove he’s still got it

Andrew Luck showed up to a high school scout team to prove he’s still got it.

Andrew Luck pissed off a lot of fans when he literally walked away from the NFL in 2019. The reaction from fans wasn’t exactly over dramatic either, it came out of nowhere and we all watched him walk off the field to boos from the crowd.

But Luck hasn’t completely walked away from football and we’ll take what we can get.

On Thursday Luck showed up for football practice at Summit High School in Frisco, CO where he spends most of his time now that he’s retired. And he didn’t just show up for a photo op to shake hands, he reportedly got in there with the teenagers to play scout team quarterback.

Oh man, that must have been so cool.

“The kids are all trying to get picks on Andrew so they could say that,” Summit head coach James Wagner told the Summit Daily (h/t Pro Football Talk). “We almost had one.”

Andrew Luck still playing football after retirement

“That’s the great thing about football is it brings us all together and you have an even playing field, that common ground to be in that locker room and to just have him simply be one of the boys,” Wagner said. “Football is still football, no matter where you are at. I think he was so happy to be out here on the field again being around the game. And that was really cool for me to see that in him.”

Luck probably won’t be coming out of retirement (wishful thinking) but perhaps coaching could be in his future?
