Reports from Italy have claimed that Chelsea are interested in a swap deal with Juventus for Alex Sandro, with Emerson Palmieri going the other way.
Emerson has been given enough chances to shine in that Chelsea shirt since his move to the club just a few seasons go, but despite a few impressive performances, the left-back has never really made the impact that many had hoped for.
And ahead of the opening of the January window, there has was alot of transfer speculation in the media that he will finally depart the club and possibly head back to Italian football, if Chelsea got the right kind of offer for him.
However, that did not happen as the defender was kept at the Bridge, where he has been pretty decent under Thomas Tuchel over the past few months, with reports that he is now happy at the club.
But football is a cruel game sometimes as there is still alot of rumours in the media that he is a player that Chelsea would not mind letting leave in the transfer window, in order to generate some funds and free up some space in the squad.
Now Italian publication Calciomercato has claimed Chelsea are open to a swap deal with Juventus involving Alex Sandro and Emerson Palmieri
Juventus have been admiring Palmieri for some time now and are understood to be ready to offer him a move back to Italian football knowing that he would very much be interested.
And to save funds, Chelsea may try and get Sandro in return, having been fans of the left-back for some time now and looking to strengthen that area of the pitch.
There will be alot of rumours between now and the summer, but if Palmieri is open to the idea of leaving the club and Sandro is open to coming to England, it could be a very smart move from Chelsea to make guys.
