The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with derby games and games ending by tiny margin. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Sofia: CSKA (#6) and Enigma Fireworks (#5). CSKA (16-12) won against visiting Enigma Fireworks (17-10) 63-51. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Enigma Fireworks. They outrebounded Enigma Fireworks 52-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for swingman Daniel Zapryanov (195-98) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Martin Rusev (-4) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Hristo Gatev (188-85) answered with 24 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for Enigma Fireworks. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 16-12 record. Enigma Fireworks at the other side keeps the fifth position with ten games lost.
Division A top team – Sportist Svoge (26-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Slavia (11-17) 97-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Slavia. Guard Boris Matrakov (195-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Jimmie Hunt chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Kristiyan Georgiev (196-98) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Sportist Svoge. Newly promoted Sportist Svoge maintains first place with 26-2 record. Slavia at the other side keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost.
Twelfth-ranked Mix (8-19) was very close to win a game against third ranked Lokomotiv 2020 (24-4) in Varna on Wednesday. Lokomotiv 2020 managed to secure only one-point victory 79-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Stanislav Slaveykov nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Matey Mitev came up with 17 points and 4 assists for Mix in the defeat. Lokomotiv 2020 maintains third place with 24-4 record having just two points less than leader Showtime. Mix lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with 19 games lost.
Twelfth-ranked Polytechnica (8-20) was very close to win a game against seventh ranked Pravets (14-13). Pravets managed to secure only three-point victory 79-76. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was Pavlin Ganchev who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 20 rebounds. Newly promoted Pravets maintains seventh place with 14-13 record. Polytechnica at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with 20 games lost.

It was a good game for Kamen Atanasov who led his team to a victory with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Lokomotiv S.’s coach Hristo Gyaurov rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn’t help. Newly promoted Fab Five BUBA maintains eighth place with 12-16 record. Lokomotiv S. lost their eighth game in a row. Lokomotiv S. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with 19 games lost.

In the last two games of round 33 Hebar smashed Champion 2006 on the road 89-63. Athletic Sofia was destroyed by NSA on its own court 74-100.


Sportist Svoge – Slavia 97-68

Division A top team – Sportist Svoge (26-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Slavia (11-17) 97-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Slavia. Sportist Svoge dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Slavia’s 40. They outrebounded Slavia 57-37 including a 22-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sportist Svoge players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 18 passes made by Slavia’s players. Guard Boris Matrakov (195-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American point guard Jimmie Hunt (188-82, college: FPU, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Sportist Svoge players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Kristiyan Georgiev (196-98) with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Slav Georgiev (191-1) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Twelfth-ranked Mix (8-19) was very close to win a game against third ranked Lokomotiv 2020 (24-4) in Varna on Wednesday. Lokomotiv 2020 managed to secure only one-point victory 79-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Lokomotiv 2020 outrebounded Mix 46-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international forward Stanislav Slaveykov (198-86) nailed a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and forward Kristiyan Stavrev (200-95, college: Eckerd) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Matey Mitev (175-94) came up with 17 points and 4 assists and guard Dinko Hristov (185-1) added 19 points respectively for Mix in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Lokomotiv 2020 maintains third place with 24-4 record having just two points less than leader Showtime. Fab Five BUBA forced 21 Lokomotiv S. turnovers and had a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a good game for swingman Kamen Atanasov (194-94) who led his team to a victory with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. No shocking result in a game when second ranked Hebar (25-3) crushed 15th ranked Champion 2006 (5-23) in Sofia 89-63 on Thursday. Hebar dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Champion 2006’s 30. Hebar forced 22 Champion 2006 turnovers and outrebounded them 45-30 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a good game for forward Georgi Kenderov (200-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Forward Georgi Barzakov (204-94) contributed with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Four Hebar players scored in double figures. Power forward Martin Todorov (205-2) answered with 22 points and forward Konstantin Paisiev (198-2) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Champion 2006. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hebar. They maintain second place with 25-3 record behind leader Showtime. Loser Champion 2006 dropped to the fourteenth position with 23 games lost.
