The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with loss of the undefeated team and favorites losing the games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Napredak Jnr (4-1) in Zitiste on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fifteenth ranked Sveti Djordje (2-3) 85-74. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Napredak Jnr. Sveti Djordje looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Aleksandar Petrovic (202-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Mihajlo Omaljev (-98) contributed with 21 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Power forward Pavle Jokic (207-95) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds for Napredak Jnr. Napredak Jnr’s coach Ljubisa Damjanovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Sveti Djordje moved-up to thirteenth place in Places 9-16, which they share with Radnicki BG and Bor. Napredak Jnr at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the tenth position with one game lost. They share it with Konstantin. Sveti Djordje is looking forward to face higher ranked Mladost SP (#12) in Smederevska Palanka in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Napredak Jnr will play at home against Vrbas and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Nis. Third ranked Fair Play (3-1) saved a 1-point victory at home edging second-ranked Slodes (3-2) 79-78 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Slodes. It was a key game for the second position in Places 1-8. Power forward Milos Stojanovic (207-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Aleksandar Miletic chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Branislav Suznjev (185-1) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fair Play have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place in Places 1-8. Slodes at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Zeleznicar C. and Klik A.. Fair Play will play against Proleter (#7) in Zrenjanin in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Slodes will play at home against the league’s leader Zdravlje (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
2MLS top team – Zdravlje (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Borac ZM (0-5) in Leskovac 101-80. Eldan Bjelak nailed 16 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side. Djuro Dautovic came up with 17 points for Borac ZM in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Zdravlje have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place in Places 1-8 with 5-0 record. Newly promoted Borac ZM still closes the standings with five games lost. Zdravlje will meet Slodes (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Borac ZM will play against Klik A. (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Bottom-ranked Vrbas is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to twelfth ranked Konstantin (4-1) 90-74. The victory was the third consecutive win for Konstantin. They moved-up to ninth place in Places 9-16, which they share with Napredak Jnr. Vrbas lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Konstantin’s next round opponent will be Star (#11) in Novi Sad. Vrbas will play on the road against Napredak Jnr (#10) in Krusevac and look forward to get finally their first victory.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Star (3-2) and Bor (2-3), which took place in Novi Sad. Higher ranked Star lost at home to fourteenth ranked Bor 82-100 on Saturday. Djordje Rakocevic orchestrated the victory by scoring 30 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Bor moved-up to thirteenth place in Places 9-16, which they share with Radnicki BG and Sveti Djordje. Star at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with two games lost. Bor will face Radnicki BG (#13) in Belgrade in the next round.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 5:
In Places 1-8 Proleter was smashed by Zeleznicar C. on the road 76-55. Klik A. won against Beovuk 72 on its own court 104-90. Beovuk 72 was outscored by Zeleznicar C. in Cacak 106-86.
In Places 9-16 Radnicki BG managed to beat Mladost SP at home 81-64.
The most impressive performance of 5th round was 30 points and 8 assists by Bosko Bumbic of Zeleznicar C..


Places 1-8

Fair Play – Slodes 79-78

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Zeleznicar C.‘s (3-2) home victory over 6th ranked Proleter (1-4) in Cacak 76-55 on Monday. Zeleznicar C. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Bosko Bumbic (191-1) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Srdjan Krsmanovic (206-0) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Zeleznicar C. players scored in double figures. Forward Marko Rajanovic (201-98, college: W.Nebraska) answered with 21 points and 5 rebounds and Vladimir Gombar (-96) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Proleter. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zeleznicar C. moved-up to third place in Places 1-8, which they share with Klik A. and Slodes. Proleter lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Zeleznicar C. will face Beovuk 72 (#6) in Belgrade in the next round. Proleter will play at home against the league’s second-placed Fair Play and hope to win that game.

Radnicki BG looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Radnicki BG made 7 blocks. Guard Dusan Milosevic (198-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Dusan Stankovic (202-94) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Naturalized Hungarian guard Marko Popadic (192-89) answered with 22 points and 5 assists and Aleksandar Nikolic (-97) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Mladost SP.
