Top ranked Ylli (13-7) recorded its seventh loss in Therande on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Rahoveci (13-8) 72-67. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ylli. The best player for the winners was American guard Isaiah Traylor (193, college: Lakehead) who scored 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Altin Morina (194-92) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international Erjon Kastrati (198-94) who recorded 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Rahoveci moved-up to third place. Ylli at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. They share it with Prizreni. Rahoveci are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Vellaznimi (#8) in Gjakove in the next round where they are favorite. Ylli will play at home against the league’s second-placed Prizreni (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Mitrovice. Sixth ranked Trepca/AS (8-13) saved a 2-point victory at home edging second-best Prizreni (13-7) 116-114 on Saturday evening. It was a good game for Greek center Stavros Toutziarakis (210-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 22 rebounds. Ivan Koljevic contributed with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Trepca/AS’s coach Neven Plantak allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international point guard Divine Myles (180-96, college: Stetson) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) for Prizreni. Trepca/AS have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 8-13 record. Prizreni at the other side still keeps top place with seven games lost. They share the position with Ylli. Trepca/AS will play against higher ranked Bashkimi (#5) in Prizren in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Prizreni will play on the road against the league’s leader Ylli (#1) in Therande and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game was played in Gjakove where host Vellaznimi (#8) rolled over higher ranked Peja with 19-point difference 82-63 on Sunday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Emmanuel Omogbo who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Vellaznimi’s coach Ljupcho Malinkov used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Brandon Walters with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds. Newly promoted Vellaznimi maintains eighth position with 6-15 record. Loser Peja keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Vellaznimi will meet at home higher ranked Rahoveci (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Peja will play against Prishtina and hope to secure a win.

Prishtina’s coach Dragan Radovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 7-14 record. Bashkimi at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Prishtina’s next round opponent will be higher ranked Peja (#4) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Bashkimi will play against Trepca/AS in Mitrovice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Bashkimi – Prishtina 88-99

The game with biggest result difference took place in Prizren. Local Bashkimi (10-10) lost to seventh ranked Prishtina (7-14) 99-88. Prishtina dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Bashkimi’s 42. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American guard Nigel Johnson (185-95, college: Virginia) who scored that evening 31 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and the other American import swingman Tevin Mack (198-97, college: Clemson) supported him with 22 points. Johnson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Prishtina’s coach Dragan Radovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 24 rebounds by Nigerian-American Obinna Oleka (203-93, college: ASU, agency: UNLTD) did not help to save the game for Bashkimi. American swingman Christian Lutete (200-96, college: UMass Lowell) added 31 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains seventh position with 7-14 record. Bashkimi at the other side keeps the fifth place with ten games lost. Prishtina’s next round opponent will be higher ranked Peja (#4) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Bashkimi will play against Trepca/AS in Mitrovice and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
