There were only 2 rounds played so far and it’s still very beginning of the Regular Season in A League. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Sport Uni in Tbilisi on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Kavkasia 95-62. The game without a history. Kavkasia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Sport Uni’s 38. Kavkasia forced 20 Sport Uni turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Shannon Fowler (203-93, college: UWG) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. The other American import guard Devon Colley (190-97, college: Peru St.) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Chris Wray (203-94, college: Mt.St.Mary’s) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Orbi and Zestaponi. Orbi won against visiting Zestaponi 96-87. American point guard Jordan Walker (183-97, college: Morehead St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 assists. Levan Lolishvili contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Donnell Cegers (196-93, college: NMU) replied with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for Zestaponi. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Orbi – Zestaponi 96-87

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi: Orbi and Zestaponi. Orbi won against visiting Zestaponi 96-87. Zestaponi was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 51-39 second half run of Orbi. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American point guard Jordan Walker (183-97, college: Morehead St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 5 assists. Forward Levan Lolishvili (198-94) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Four Orbi players scored in double figures. American forward Donnell Cegers (196-93, college: NMU) replied with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Otari Buliava (198-94) added 26 points in the effort for Zestaponi. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
