Forward Jan Wojcik (204-F-99) put on an amazing game in the last round for Slask 2, receiving a Interperformances 1Liga Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 21-year old player had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Krosno (10-12) 85-75. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Slask 2 is placed at 10th position in Polish 1Liga. Slask 2 is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 10-12 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Wojcik as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Jan Wojcik averages this season 9.4ppg and 6.2rpg.
The second best player in last round’s games was 27-year old former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-C-93) of league’s second-best WKK Wroclaw. Niedzwiedzki had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as WKK Wroclaw lost that game 76-89 to slightly higher-ranked Czarni (#1, 19-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. WKK Wroclaw still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team’s 17-5 record is not bad at all. Niedzwiedzki is well-known at WKK Wroclaw and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.
Third on the list of top players last round was Mateusz Szwed (200-C/F-91) of Pruszkow (#6). Szwed showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, ten rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Pruszkow, leading his team to a 73-59 easy win against the lower-ranked Wisla Krakow (#15, 6-16). Pruszkow needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 9 lost games. Szwed has a great season in Poland. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (#1 in league).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
