Serbian Forward Milos Pesic (206-F-84, agency: 011 Sports) had a great game in the last round for Focsani, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 36-year old player was the main contributor (28 points, eight rebounds and five assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to crush Targu Jiu (#12, 2-9) with 25-point margin 87-62. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Focsani is placed at 10th position in Romanian Liga Nationala. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 9 games and recorded just three victories. In the team’s last game Pesic had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Focsani’s top player in his first season with the team. Milos Pesic has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in points (9th best: 16.0ppg) and averages impressive 53.0% FGP and 40.7% from behind 3-point line.
The second best player in last round’s games was 26-year old American Kevin Allen (211-C-94) of Targu Jiu. Allen had a very good evening with a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Targu Jiu lost that game 62-87 to slightly higher-ranked Focsani (#10, 3-9). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Targu Jiu dropped in the standings to 12th position. 9 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Targu Jiu managed to get this year. Allen is a newcomer at Targu Jiu, but is already one of team’s top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.1ppg (#1). He also registered 10.5 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Isaiah Philmore (203-F-89) of league’s second-best Sibiu. Philmore scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Sibiu, leading his team to a 103-75 easy win against the lower-ranked Steaua B. (#9, 4-6). Sibiu is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 9-2 record is not that bad… Philmore has a great season in Romania. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 16.8ppg (6th best). He also has FGP: 64.3% and 3PT: 52.0%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
