Arsenal will have to produce bids of around £50million if they want to prise Jules Kounde away from Sevilla this summer, but will he get the money?
Despite doing a great job since his arrival at the Emirates, Mikel Arteta knows that he needs to add another defender to the squad in the coming transfer window as he needs to strengthen that area of the pitch.
And that has led to many reports in the media that the Gunners are very much interested in trying to secure a transfer deal for Kounde, who is also attracting Premier League interest from Chelsea
But Sevilla have put themselves in a strong position to keep Kounde after finishing fourth in La Liga and qualifying for the Champions League, and reports on the Athletic have claimed that they will not sell the defender for anything less than £50 million.
But he defender is understandably keen to play in the Champions League next term and that would appear to give Chelsea the upper hand in a straight battle with Arsenal.
Ivan Rakitic recently claimed he ca “understand” why a big-money transfer may appeal to Sevilla team-mate Jules Kounde this summer
Rakitic has told DjMaRiiO: “A boy like Kounde, at his age, if he gets an offer from one of the biggest clubs in the world, you have to understand the kid and his situation.”
Arteta will surely get alot of money to spend in the transfer window as the board will surely believe that he can guide the club back to the very top of the game, and it will be interesting to see whom he acquires.
But if they did sign Kounde in the transfer window, he would be a very good investment by the club and certainly a player that they can help mould into one of the vert best defenders in world football.
