Haaland boost handed, Chelsea told Jorginho interested in move, Donnarumma boost and Dembele admits Tuchel is favourite coach in Chelsea roundup…
AC Milan are reportedly struggling to make progress on Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract situation – opening the door for Chelsea to swoop in and try to get a transfer deal done in the summer.
With ex-boss Frank Lampard interested in adding a new stopper to the squad over the summer transfer window, there was alot of speculation in the media which suggested that Chelsea were very interested in signing Donarumma.
Regarded as one of the finest young stoppers in the game right now, and the man to be the next Gianluigi Buffon, Donnarumma is making a real name for himself in the game and has been in the headlines alot over his future, as he simply could not agree a new contract.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper’s deal expires in the summer and negotiations are said to be moving slowly, and although Thomas Tuchel has not made signing a new stopper his main priority, the chance to sign the Italian on a free contract has been talked about alot over the past few months
And while Milan have spoken calmly about the situation in previous months, technical director Paolo Maldini was described as frustrated when referring to the situation in the week.
He said: “These are choices everyone has to make.
“I am not here to judge, I am here to do what is best for the club. I also know that you need two parties to be happy in order to strike a deal.”
A pay increase from his net salary of £100,000-a-week to a £133,000-a-week wage is on the table but no deal has been signed.
CHELSEA have been handed a huge transfer boost after Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele named Thomas Tuchel as his favourite coach.
The French winger has failed to light up LaLiga as many expected following a £97million move from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, as he has been constantly injured and in and out of that Barcelona side.
That has led to alot of speculation in the media that Barcelona may look to offload the Frenchman in the coming transfer window, especially as there are many reports that they need to pay off a £900 million debt.
And it appears Dembele would be keen to link up once again with his former Dortmund boss Tuchel, who has been tipped to make a transfer move for the speedy winger when the transfer window opens up in just a few months time.
WHAT HAS HE SAID?
Speaking to BeIn Sports, the 23-cap France international said: “Thomas Tuchel is my favourite coach.
“Under him I played more on the right side before I was moved to ten or in the middle.
“If he had stayed, it would have been very difficult to leave Dortmund. I would probably not have done it.”
Dembele has also confirmed he is yet to start discussing a new contract with Barcelona.
His current deal expires next summer.
Dembele said: “My future? I still have a year of contract left. There hasn’t been a discussion with the club yet, I’m happy, and I feel good.
“Then there is the new president who has arrived and whom I do not know too well, but he is very close to the players. We’ll see how it goes.”
Chelsea have been handed a real boost in their pursuit to try and sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in the summer transfer window by Gunnar Halle.
Haaland is a player that has been in the headlines alot of the past few weeks, with all the games biggest clubs now looking to pay his £100 million asking price in the summer to possibly get a deal done.
It is no secret that Chelsea will be in the market for a new striker in the summer, because despite all their quality in attack, they do not have a striker that is able to score 30-goals a season like Haaland can
Big-money bids for the hottest of prospects are now being mooted with Premier League sides seemingly leading the chase, and Halle – who is a coach in Norway’s youth set-up – concedes the Leeds-born starlet may be considering a return to England.
What has Helle told the likes of Chelsea?
Helle told the Daily Star when quizzed on the speculation: “It’s difficult to say, with the Spanish and English interest there are so many things now that have to be considered with his agent and everything, and the money of course will be quite a lot!
“I think a little bit of his heart will be in England because his dad was playing there with Leeds and City, but also his connection with Ole Gunnar, so I think his Dad will maybe play a part.”
Could Chelsea sign the striker?
There is no doubt that Chelsea have the financial power and the fact they are one of the biggest clubs in world football to tempt the player to Stamford Bridge, and if Roman Abramovic really wants the striker, he will make a deal happen.
It will come down to where Haaland believes he will develop best, he will have options, but Chelsea will certainly have a great chance.
Jorginho “wants to return to Italy”, according to his agent Joao Santos, who says the Chelsea star is interested in Juventus, Inter and Milan
Jorginho has been at Stamford Bridge for the last few seasons now and has fully established himself as one of the most important players at the club, although there are many fans out there that believe he does not produce the numbers to warrant a regular start.
However, he has constantly been in the headlines over a possible move away from the club in the next couple of windows with a return to Italian football high up on his agenda, but he has always played down speculation that he wants to leave.
But the Italian midfielder has been tipped to make his way back to Serie A this summer, with his agent now claiming that he would welcome the chance to embark on the next chapter of his career in his homeland.
HIS AGENT TOLD CHELSEA FANS….
He told RADIO KISS KISS: “He wants to return to Italy: if Napoli will have the will to bring him back to the squad, we will be well disposed.
“He costs 50 million euros and still has a two-year contract. I think [Roman] Abramovich will propose a renewal shortly anyway.
“Juve? [Fabio] Paratici knows football. He is not interested only in the Bianconeri, but also in Inter and Milan.”
WILL FANS SEE THE PLAYER LEAVE?
Look, at the end of the day, if Jorginho does want to leave Chelsea in the transfer market and the club do get a decent offer for the star, he is certainly one player that Thomas Tuchel can replace.
The German boss may not want to lose the player, but as we said, there is no point in keeping someone who does not have 100 per cent desire to put that shirt on.
