Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is purring about adding Nuno Taveres to his squad for next season.
After a very disappointing Premier League season last year, in which the Gunners finished well down the pecking order, Mikel Arteta is expected to bring in a number of players over the next few months
He knows that he needs to add strength in depth to the side, he knows that he needs to add quality in key areas of the pitch, and he has started off his summer of spending with the signing of Tavares
The 21-year-old, a graduate of Benfica’s youth system, has signed a long-term deal to become the Gunners’ first signing of the summer to end months and months and months of speculation.
And after seeing the deal get announced, Arteta has told fans just what Tavares will bring to the club. Arteta said of his new signing “We welcome Nuno to the club,”
“He is a young player with great promise who has developed very well with Benfica in recent seasons and has also shown his quality by being part of Portugal Under-21s.
“Nuno’s arrival will give the squad extra strength and options in defence, particularly with this energy on the left side of the pitch.
“We look forward to Nuno’s arrival soon, his integration into the Arsenal family and playing in front of our fantastic supporters.”
Tavares is a very talented young player that will add a bit more depth to the side, but even though fans will be welcoming their new signing, they are hoping that big time players are also signed
It is no secret that the Gunners will need to splash the cash this summer, as signings like Tavares will not get the club back into that top four spot and playing Champions League football guys
