The game between third ranked Boras Basket (9-6) and fourth ranked Nassjo (10-6) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Boras Basket was defeated by Nassjo in a tough game in Nassjo 81-87. Boras Basket was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Nassjo dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Boras Basket’s 22 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Boras Basket 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Power forward Craig Lecesne (206-97, college: SJSU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds. Forward David Hook (198-99, college: E.Wyoming) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Canadian point guard Marek Klassen (186-92, college: PLNU) answered with 23 points and 6 assists for Boras Basket. Nassjo moved-up to third place. Defending champion Boras Basket dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Nassjo are looking forward to face league’s leader Norrkoping Dolphins at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Boras Basket will play against BC Lulea and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Basketligan top team – Norrkoping Dolphins (13-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Koping Stars (7-9) 94-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Koping Stars. International Adam Ramstedt (208-95) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and Phil Carr chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Norrkoping Dolphins’ coach Mikko Riipinen allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American guard Jonah Mathews (190-98, college: USC) responded with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Norrkoping Dolphins have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-3 record. Koping Stars at the other side keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Norrkoping Dolphins will play against Nassjo (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Koping Stars will play against the league’s second-placed SBBK in Sodertalje and hope to get back on the winning track.

Toure Murry came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds for BC Lulea in the defeat. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for SBBK. They maintain second place with 11-2 record having five points less than leader Norrkoping. Loser BC Lulea keeps the fifth position with six games lost. SBBK will meet at home Koping Stars (#6) in the next round. BC Lulea will play against Boras Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Sodertalje – BC Lulea 82-73

The game between second ranked SBBK (11-2) and 5th ranked BC Lulea (8-6) in Sodertalje on Friday ended with biggest points difference. SBBK beat guests from Lulea 82-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Lulea. The game without a history. SBBK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to BC Lulea’s 22. SBBK had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international Martin Pahlmblad (193-86) nailed 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and the former international Viktor Gaddefors (201-92) accounted for 19 points and 6 rebounds. Four SBBK players scored in double figures. American point guard Toure Murry (196-89, college: Wichita St., agency: Players Group) came up with 28 points and 5 rebounds and international center Adam Ronnqvist (181-90) added 16 points respectively for BC Lulea in the defeat.
