An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Quakenbrueck. Second ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven faced one of their biggest challengers Artland Dragons. Guests from Bremerhaven (6-1) defeated host Artland Dragons (5-3) 99-95. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Artland Dragons. The best player for the winners was American point guard Trey Davis (183-93, college: UMass) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import Joshua Braun (193-94, college: GCU) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven’s coach Michael Mai used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American Gerel Simmons (188-93, college: LMU) who recorded 31 points and 4 assists. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven maintains second position with 6-1 record having five points less than leader Rostock. Artland Dragons at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Schwenningen. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven are looking forward to face Phoenix Hagen (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Artland Dragons will play against MLP Academics Heidelberg (#7) and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Leader Rostock delivered the eighth victory. This time they beat 12th ranked Gladiators (3-5) 93-82. It was a good game for Iranian Behnam Yakhchali (194-95) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 8 assists. Bradley Loesing contributed with 13 points for the winners. American Chase Adams (176-88, college: Pittsburgh) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for Gladiators. Gladiators’ coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Rostock maintains first position with 8-2 record. Gladiators lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with five games lost. Rostock will play against Kirchheim Knights (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gladiators will play against Schwenningen and hope to get back on the winning track.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Trier, where 9th ranked Lions (4-5) were outleveled in a road game by twelfth ranked Gladiators (3-5) 82-62 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Chase Adams who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Maurice Pluskota with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gladiators moved-up to tenth place. Loser Lions keep the ninth position with five games lost. Gladiators will meet higher ranked Schwenningen (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Lions will play against Walter Tigers (#14) and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 12 Tuebingen were defeated by Schwenningen in a road game 99-90. Paderborn beat Kirchheim at home 96-87.
The best stats of 12th round was 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by Shaun Willett of Schwenningen.

Art.Dragons – Bremerhaven 95-99

Schwenningen – Tuebingen 99-90

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Walter Tigers (1-5) were defeated on the road by eighth ranked Schwenningen (5-3) 99-90 on Saturday. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of Shaun Willett (193-96, college: Queens, NC) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Nate Britt (185-94, college: UNC) who added 27 points and 6 assists during the contest. Schwenningen’s coach Alen Velcic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Isaiah Crawley (201-98, college: Georgia South) with 20 points and 8 rebounds and Troy Simons (191-96, college: Kent St.) scored 23 points. Schwenningen have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Art.Dragons. Walter Tigers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with five games lost. Schwenningen will meet at home MLP Academics Heidelberg (#7) in the next round. Walter Tigers will play against Lions (#9) in Karlsruhe and hope to win that game.

We should mention about the upset which took place in Trier, where 9th ranked Lions (4-5) were outleveled in a road game by twelfth ranked Gladiators (3-5) 82-62 on Saturday. Gladiators dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Lions’ 20. They outrebounded Lions 42-25 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American Chase Adams (176-88, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Rupert Hennen (184-97) who added 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Maurice Pluskota (209-92) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American Kavin Gilder-Tilbury (201-94, college: Texas St.) scored 7 points. No shocking result in a game in Paderborn where eighth ranked Uni Baskets (5-4) defeated 11th ranked Kirchheim Knights (2-6) 96-87 on Saturday. Uni Baskets made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center John Bryant (211-87, college: Santa Clara) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and the other American import point guard Grant Benzinger (193-96, college: Wright St.) who added 24 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Kyle Leufroy (190-96, college: Lehigh) with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and center Andreas Kronhardt (205-89) scored 15 points. Five Uni Baskets and four Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Uni Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Kirchheim Knights lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Uni Baskets will meet Bayer Giants (#6) in the next round. Kirchheim Knights will play against the league’s leader Rostock (#1) and hope to secure a win.

American Chase Adams (176-88, college: Pittsburgh) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and center Kalidou Diouf (205-94, college: CBU) added 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Gladiators.
