Experienced Patrick Samoura (197-F) had a great game in the last round for USK Praha and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The forward got a double-double of 26 points and eleven assists, while his team edged out Kralovsti sokoli (#9, 5-8) 98-94. USK Praha maintains the 3rd position in Czech Republic NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. USK Praha will need more victories to improve their 8-5 record. In the team’s last game Samoura had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be USK Praha’s top player in his first season with the team. Patrick Samoura averages this season 12.3ppg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 33-year old former international point guard Jakub Sirina (186-PG-87, agency: Octagon Europe) of second-ranked Opava. Sirina impressed basketball fans with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Of course Opava cruised to a 82-72 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Kolin (#6, 6-5). Opava’s second position in the standings has not changed. His team belongs to top of the standings with 12-1 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Sirina is one of the most experienced players at Opava and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.5ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 4.9rpg and 8.8apg.
The third best performed player last round was American Zane Waterman (203-F-95) of NH Ostrava (#11). Waterman scored 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Waterman’s great performance NH Ostrava lost 68-94 to the higher-ranked Usti n/Labem (#5, 7-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. NH Ostrava can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-10 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Waterman has individually a great season in Czech Republic. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 16.9ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 9.0rpg (2nd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
