CSKA Moscow (VTB) confirmed in their roster experienced 34-year old ex-international forward Nikita Kurbanov (202cm-105kg) for new 2021-22 season. Kurbanov has played there for the last six seasons. He helped them to win the regular season and they also made it to the Euroleague Final Four. He played 34 games in VTB United League where he had 5.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.6apg and 1.0spg last season. Kurbanov contributed to his team winning the VTB United League championship. A very impressive season as he was named to VTB United League All-Star Game.
He was also a member of Russian international program for some years. He played for Russian Senior National Team between 2009 and 2019 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2005.
Kurbanov represented Russia at the European Championships four years ago. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 9 games: 5.4ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.3apg, FGP: 48.1%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 73.7%.
He has spent his entire career in Russia playing for three other teams: Spartak Sankt Petersburg, Unics and Lokomotiv.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Eurobasket.com All-VTB League Defensive Player of the Year back in 2017.
Plays both 3 and 4 positions. A little bit undersized as for power forward. But uses his quickness to get on the basket and grab rebounds.
