Rilski – Levski Lukoil 69-84
Levski Lukoil celebrated NBL title. They beat Rilski in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to conquer the trophy. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-69. Levski Lukoil dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rilski’s 32. They outrebounded Rilski 41-19 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Keith Benson (211-88, college: Oakland) stepped up and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and the former international forward Yordan Minchev (202-98, agency: BIG) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds. Chilean-American power forward Nicolas Carvacho (211-97, college: Colorado St.) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Brandon Brown (180-91, college: LMU) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Four Levski Lukoil and five Rilski players scored in double figures. Rilski’s coach Ludmil Hadjisotirov rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
