Tim Skerbec

Tim Skerbec (200-PF-93) put on an amazing game in the last round for league’s second-best Portoroz and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents 2SKL Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 27-year old power forward had the game-high 18 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Portoroz in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Sezana (#8, 2-4) 80-71. Portoroz is placed at 2nd position in Slovenian 2SKL. They are still close to the very top. Portoroz would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. In the team’s last game Skerbec had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Portoroz and just after two games he already turned to be a very valuable addition to the team. Tim Skerbec averages just after two games 16.0ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 29-year old center Nejc Buda (211-C-91) of Celje. Buda impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Celje cruised to a 83-71 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked Ljubljana (#10, 1-4). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Celje dropped in the standings to second-to-the-bottom (11th) position. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Celje managed to get this year. Buda is well-known by Celje fans and he already established his position as one of team’s most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Aljaz Stopar (195-F-97) of Sezana (#8). Stopar scored 27 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Stopar’s great performance Sezana lost 71-80 to the higher-ranked Portoroz (#2, 5-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Sezana not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Stopar could try to bring Sezana’s a little bit higher in the standings. The season just started for Stopar as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team’s leader.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
