American Brandon Peterson (203-C/F-90) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Vrsac, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, nine rebounds and four assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to beat Sloboda U. (#5, 12-9) 97-85. Vrsac maintains the 7th position in Serbian KLS. Vrsac is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 11-12 record. Peterson turned to be Vrsac’s top player in his first season with the team. Former Arkansas State University star has very solid stats this year. Peterson is in league’s top in points (8th best: 17.9ppg), rebounds (4th best: 8.6rpg) and averages impressive 70.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round’s games was 26-year old Dusan Kutlesic (200-SG-94) of Zlatibor. Kutlesic had a very good evening with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Zlatibor was edged by slightly higher-ranked Vojvodina NS (#2, 18-3) 85-82. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Zlatibor still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team’s 16-6 record is not bad at all. Kutlesic is a newcomer at Zlatibor, but is already one of team’s top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Nikola Gacesa (206-F-87) of league’s second-best Vojvodina NS. Gacesa scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Vojvodina NS, leading his team to a 85-82 win against #3 ranked Zlatibor. Vojvodina NS is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 18-3 record is not that bad… Gacesa has a very solid season. In 20 games in Serbia he scored 15.6ppg. He also has 4.5rpg and FGP: 62.3%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
